1. How are these softwares - Autocad, Sketch Up, Lumion 3D & Photoshop being useful?

 

AutoCAD is a commercial software application for 2D and 3D computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting. Commonly will be taught in universities, but limited. It would be a perfect software used to draft drawings precisely and accurately.

 

Sketch Up is known as the easiest and fastest software to generate 3Ds. It offers speed modeling and flexible in collaborating with other softwares like Autocad, Lumion 3D and 3D max.

 

Lumion 3D would be the best time saving rendering software ever. Besides, it is also flexible enough to import 3D models in from Sketch Up, 3D max and other modeling softwares.

 

Adobe Photoshop is famous in graphic industry. Architects usually use Photoshop for post-production rendering, board design or compilation and other graphic-related components.

2. How do we teach?

 

For each workshop, we will take a maximum of 30 students per session and conducted by 2-3 trainers at once. To enhance the teaching method and effective learning of students, they will be given an exercise in every class and to be reviewed during the next class. Students will also be examined during the last class. This is to guarantee their learning outcome throughout the workshops. They will be examined by generating the final productions (include rendered drawings and perspectives) and to compile them into a final presentation boards.

 

3. What do I need to prepare for class and what will be provided?

 

Students are required to bring their own laptops with taught softwares to be properly installed. However, teaching materials such as notes and exercises will be provided online and students are required to download them before classes. Students will also be given some related links and reference sources during the class.
